Scene of the Month: Nashville, TN

Nashville, TN is one of the most revered music scenes in the world. Every year, millions of tourists flock to the Southern city to experience the magic and wonder of live music across all genres and generations. Nashville claims the name ‘Music City,’ and not just because of historic artists and venues like Dolly Parton or the Grand Ole Opry. The talent, ambition and authenticity of artists all across the city creates a music scene unlike any other. We caught up with a few Nashville artists, and scouted out some well-loved venues, to learn more!
Mary Moore
Mary Moore is a folk-pop artist based in Nashville. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, she headed to Nashville a few years ago to pursue her dream of being a singer-songwriter. Ever since, she has graced countless Nashville stages, and created a space for herself within the folk-pop sphere. Check out our interview with Mary here!
Doc. Henry
Doc. Henry is a musician, singer and songwriter based in Nashville. Doc. Henry released their first singles on Spotify earlier this year, and, having moved to Nashville just before the pandemic, are now getting the opportunity to explore the world of live performance in ‘Music City.’ Check out our interview here!
Tin Roof
In 2002, the Original Tin Roof opened near Nashville’s famed Music Row to give musicians a place to play and a place to hang when they weren’t on stage. The tasty food, fun, eclectic environment, community of Regulars and friendly Crew quickly established the Roof as the place to be for musicians and non-musicians alike. Over the years, their stages have hosted the famous, the should have been famous, and everyone in between.
Exit/In
Exit/In has stood at 2208 Elliston Place since 1971. It is the anchor of Elliston Place and is the reason the strip is known as The Rock Block. Exit/In is locally, independently, and family owned and operated, and has hosted every artist imaginable. (Jimmy Buffet was the first person to ever perform live at the venue!) Recently, when the city threatened to replace the venue with a hotel, community members came together with donations in order to save the historic venue.
